Birthday Supper Club Celebrates Again!!! Who???

Yes, it was another wonderful evening celebrating with the Birthday Supper Club...
It was HERBERT's birthday...and we had an interesting twist to the evening....!!!

Herbert's choice of restaurant was The Chop House...(and from a former blog you know this was
my choice as well)....but, this evening we had some extra guest coming...Jill had arranged for Herbert's parent's, H.T. & Wilda to drive from KY to surprise Herbert....So the plan was for everyone to arrive first, with Herbert & Jill and Joe & I running late, to be the last ones to arrive...You know that is the way you do things when you are planning a surprise...WELL...we REALLY were running late..!!!

Jill was ready to loose it when I called and explained I had just jumped out of the shower........
So I pulled it together...well kind of...I couldn't get my "cha-cha- top" zipped and neither could my husband..we jumped into our SUV not having my makeup on or my top zipped...threw on my makeup on like a mad-woman...and I knew someone could assist me with dressing.....

Joe is driving like a maniac....(Yes, Pastor Scott, no cause for road rage here...he was in no one's way) so we are Zoom, Zoom, Zoom...Joe is making ME very carsick while I am trying to put on my face....

THEN Jill calls to tell me they haven't left the house and to take our time....
WHHHHHHHHHY? I ASKED...?????

She is beside herself because she couldn't get Herbert to get dressed...He got home in plenty of time and then TOOK his time....not in a hurry at all...

We finally meet up...We jump in their SUV, I have my make-up on...and Jill helps me get my top zipped...then off we go to the Boro...

When we arrive Joe and I walk in in front of Herbert and Jill and get seated and Herbert and Jill make their entrance...

The look on Herbert's face still makes me teary-eyed. It was worth everything we went through to be there....

It doesn't matter how old we are...NOTHING makes your birthday special like your parent's making IT a big deal ....and friends, well we are just the icing on the cake!!!

Let's talk "friends"...with friends, and about friends...

I hope if you read my blogs that you are also on the most happening "FRIEND" network available to our very fingertips...FACEBOOK...!!!

Oh I can already see the expressions in some of your faces....NO...you can't talk me into it....don't make me...I refuse...I can't be on Facebook...NO NO NO!!!! Well...aren't we cutting ourselves a little short ?????..You see I LOVE my friends...all 440 of them!!!!!....I want to know what they are thinking, wearing, about their diets and exercise programs....where they are going....are they struggling....their projects...and their families...

There is a huge world out there....and this a very positive network...my friends motivate me...empower me to do my best...and I love to be the same "Friend" for them too...

We laugh, coach, inspire each other and yes....we even pray for one another too.....

I truthfully think God wants us to be present and proactive...It is called living!!!!

The Art of Dining

Last night the B'day Supper Club met at The Olive
Garden....(where friends are family) to celebrate Joe's birthday.. Joe had his favorite "spaghetti". This group loves getting together..especially for B'days..

This is the way this our Supper Club works...4 couples...8 birthdays...we each get to pick the restaurant of our choice on our B'day..and everyone has to go where we chose...presents and cards! Jill's Mom and Dad began our first Supper Club. Every time they came to town Marie organized a Party.......and we kept it going..

This past year our highlights were:

Irene picked "Five Guys" have you ever been? best hot dogs and hamburgers ever!!! we all dreaded her choice (well, not Joe) ..but it was a great evening...we ate outside and the weather was wonderful ....(we felt like we were in Destin)..then all of us walked over to The Marble Slab for dessert...this ended up being one of our "best times" ever...

Ronnie chose The Chop House....we squeezed in a several more friends that night.....!! Careful all your friends will want to be in your Supper Club...

Jill's pick was The Maple Street Grill....on the square in the Boro...we loved this place...very posh...

Mike Sims made a very interesting choice; The Bell Buckle Cafe Banquet Hall...it was a packed house...A wonderful gospel group performed and the food was perfect.

Sherry's choice ....Longhorn....of course it was fab...and festive...! it was a "wooohooo"..!!!!!

My birthday was celebrated back at The Chop House...since it's between Christmas and New Years...I chose it for the ambiance ....a round table by the fireplace...It was my best birthday ever..it was an intimate evening with great close friends...

Herberts:...well, His is yet to be announced...wonder???

Supper Clubs are the new comeback in socializing with friends...if you don't have a supper club group begin one.....keep it small and intimate so you can be easily seated at restaurants. Also, you will really make some lifetime bonds with one another..

Wear White!

The day after Memorial Day "They" say.."Wear WHITE"...Yes, the marker that your mother used to make it "legal" to wear White Shoes, White shorts, White handbags, White earrings, White Sunglasses, White Scarfs and the all-time favorite White Swimsuit.........NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING says SUMMER like "WHITE"...It is my favorite color to wear...(BTW I always break the rules and wear Summer White, Spring White, Fall White, and Winter White)..

But, if you are a girl who plays by the rules...Well...It's Summertime...time to slip into something White!!!

No Voice

You cannot imagine me without a voice...I was soooo frustrated..It started on Thursday during the Fun Show...oh dear...not me..I am never sick...and my friends would be in town to have a great weekend. Gayle was here from LA/Beverly Hills (remember, i have already mentioned that we are two-of-a-kind). Nick her husband was joining us and so was her good, good friend Jennie..WELL...I started feeling really strange..I could not talk normal. Oh I sounded very strange...very coarse and then became hoarse...i made it to the show on Friday night. Man, it was great to see everyone seated in their outside oval boxes. We were all trying to be festive in spite of it ALL. Horse people love being together thru "thick-n-thin"...Did I mention that alot of us love fashion like we love our horses...they go hand-n-hand. It was a Cha-Cha evening.

Then my throat felt weird....tight...and tighter...NO VOICE on Sat...I knew better than to take a nap...I never got up....until Sunday afternoon. Oh...I hated missing the horse show and church on Sunday. I love to worship with my friends. I just kept thinking..."this will be over in a few days..." but what about those that it isn't over in a few days...I am thankful for my health and I knew I had witnessed a glimpse of what it is like for so many that are very ill.

It was a low-key week-end for me, but, you can bet I will be Living LARGE again soon...
I here the gym calling...oh and Joe too. I CAN answer!!!!

Where's YOUR spring?

My winter clothes seems so depressing now...everytime I am ready to make the BIG transition...woops...winter shows us it is not ready to leave...This winter was unbelievably long this year...don't you think???

My spring clothes and bronze skin makes me feel wonderful...refreshed and ready...Girls, you know what I am talking about when I say "Ready" ....the days when you feel like you look TOO cute and you could accomplish a weeks worth of your "to-do" list in one day !! You can't wait till the next day to accomplish more tasks with the same ease!!! Oh and wear something else really cute again while your doing it..........!!!

Yes, there is a season for everything...think about that one...Seasons to make us happy and seasons to make us wait for things to happen...we have to see winter to see the spring...are you waiting for some THING in your life...or maybe even the some ONE you want to spend the rest of your life with...remain faithful that "SPRING" will come....you could just still be in the winter part of your life.

God's word tells us there is a season for everything...

Patty Marek loves this horse (she raised him) and seeing these two turn BLUE made her night too!!!

In the warm up ring Ernest kept it real!!! someone had to be calm! He was an awesome coach... Blake and Joe???? well, they were SUPER excited..:)!

Tabby, My Trainer

This morning I worked out with Tabby at The Fit Club (a popular place to be BTW)....Tabby is the new owner and personal trainer and group fitness instructor...she made ZUMBA famous in Shelbyville, TN!!!...Do you know her??? Drive by The Fit Club and look at the photos on the side of the building...you will say "NO WAY"!!!...but "YES WAY"!!!!...She achieved these results by taking "exercising and eating healthy" serious...very serious!!

Tabby has taken me from what I thought was a "very dedicated" almost 4 year program to a HNL!!! She makes you do what she describes as "CROSSING-OVER"...this is the point where you want to quit, but she teaches you to embrace that moment and LOVE it...do you get what I am saying ???? She's TOUGH...!

She describes this is the point where you achieve the results you are deeply desiring ...Now, this is the point I PRAY for strength and the cool thing is Christ delivers it to me...This morning we worked legs AND interval cardio sprints....awwwwh...we CROSSED-OVER!!! Sweeet!
